First Annual Spring Gala (concert)

Bay City Handy and Central Bands

Dear Handy and Central Band Students and Parents:

Our 1^st Annual Spring Gala is scheduled for Sunday, May 20^th at the World Friendship Shell in downtown Bay City.  This event will take place from 2:00-6:00.  Students will perform in the following schedule:

2:00 6^th Grade Band

2:30 Jazz Lab

3:00 7^th Grade Band

3:30 Central Air

4:00 8^th Grade Band

4:30 Bay City Steelers

5:00 Symphony Band

5:30 Wind Symphony

Students will need to be at the Friendship Shell about 15 minutes before their performance time.  Cases will be stored with parents in the audience.  There is absolutely no playing allowed until students are asked to come on stage.  The Central uniform for the afternoon is the band polo with khakis, Handy uniform is normal concert dress.

Concessions will be sold and Herter Music Center will also be there for any of your music supply needs.  Make sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket for the afternoon.  This is a free concert but we will be accepting donations.

In the event of rain the concert will follow the same schedule but will be held in the Central High Auditorium.  All Handy students will store their instrument cases in the cafeteria (just like Band-O-Rama).  We will make a decision on where to hold the concert based on weather by Friday afternoon and if there is a change to the Central venue, students will be notified before they leave school on Friday, May 18.  You can also check out the BCC Bands Facebook page, or the Central Bands website at www.bccbands.net for information about the concert.
