This Too Shall Pass Children Needed

Dear Central Band Friends and Supporters,

We are very excited to include some younger talent in our marching band show.  The Central Band is doing a collection of viral hits this year and one of the pieces we are doing is based on the video from the band “OK GO” and their song “This Too Shall Pass”.   The video has members from the Notre Dame Marching Band and many children with streamers.  Each week we are inviting a different group from around Bay City to participate with us.  That’s where we would like to extend the invitation to your youngster to participate in our halftime show this year.  Their participation is very simple and does not require any more practice than a simple game of follow the leader. 

Here’s how this will work.  The participating children will meet in the end zone by the scoreboard when you see the Central Marching Band gathering there.  This is usually with about 3-4 minutes left in the 2^nd quarter.  Please walk your participating child/children there and I will meet them next to the scoreboard.  You can then go back to the stands where you can watch the halftime show.  As the Central Marching Band enters the field I will walk the children to the home sideline and they will be seated on the bench where I will hand out streamers.  During the 2^nd piece (This Too Shall Pass) I will put the children into several lines on the sideline.  Near the end of the song, several CHS Band members (dressed in leafy camouflage) will come out to lead each line.  All your child/children will need to do is follow the leader with their streamer held high.  At the end of the piece I will gather the children back on the bench and collect the streamers.  After the Marching Band exits the field I will take the children back to the end zone by the scoreboard.  Please come down at that time and I will release your child/children from there.

Each participating child will receive free admission to the game which begins at 7pm.  All parents will need to purchase a ticket.

The game date for Band Siblings and Friends is September 14^th.  Please look at the top of the webpage and visit the tab to register your child.  It will close at 2:30pm on Friday (I need to make sure I have enough streamers).  You can pick up your tickets at the band room from 2:30-3:00 or 5:00-5:30. I apologize for the lateness of this, things are moving fast this year!  It is very important that I have an accurate count so that I have enough streamers for the children.
