News and Notes

If you have any Smart Card money or unsold tickets please start returning those items.  I would like to wrap up the sale by November 25.  

 

Cheesecake sale is under way.  All orders and money are due November 7th and the delivery is November 19th.

 

The jazz dinner concert will be November 19.  You may purchase tickets or dinner or just come and enjoy the concert.  Dinner will begin at 6:30 and the concert will start around 7:15.  If you are just attending the concert there is no charge.  Tickets will be available in early November.

 

The band composite picture which is taken every 4 years is will take place on Thursday, October 30th during class.  Students will wear their marching band uniforms and you will have the option to purchase those pictures.  Information regarding the purchase of those pictures will be given out when the company comes to take the photograph on the 30th.

 

The Western/Central game is this Friday.  Students that need to ride the bus must be ready to board the bus at 4:45 from the CHS band room.  Students and parents may drive themselves out to Western if they would like.  The report time for students that chose to meet us there is 5:15 in the back of the school.  (near the tennis courts).  Just look for the big Central Band Trailer in the back parking lot.  We will have a combined rehearsal with Western on their practice field at 5:30.  We will be performing pre-game with Western and doing half of our half-time show.  Students will be released immediately following the game.  Those students that will be riding the bus back to Central will need to get on the bus right away.  Students that are not riding the bus must turn their uniform in on Monday.  Please keep it neat over the weekend and hang your pants up correctly : )  I do not need notes if students are not riding the bus, Western is part of our school district.

 

The Central Air Jazz Band will have a performance at the State Theater on December 2nd for the Bay City Jazz Festival.  Time TBA.

 

The Winter Band Concert and Annual Cookie walk will be Wednesday, December 10th at 7:00pm.  If Wednesday happens to be a snow day the concert will be Thursday, December 11th at 7:00pm.
