Urgent-Host Families Needed

A couple years ago we hosted a group from Germany through Blue Lake International.  Sebewaing is hosting a group in a couple weeks and are in urgent need of host families.  If you are interested or able to host a student for a couple days please there is contact information at the bottom of this page.

Hello Friends in Michigan’s Thumb!   EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOSTING A EUROPEAN STUDENT FOR A FEW DAYS?

I am writing you on behalf of  Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's International Exchange Program!   We are pleased to announce that the German Choir “Voices of Heaven”, from Eberbach, Germany, will be traveling on a Goodwill Tour in Michigan and Indiana later this summer.  

The group will be visiting Sebewaing, Michigan for the last stop of their tour.  Carrie Graf from Sebewaing is our local chairlady.  They will be in Sebewaing from  Friday, August 26 – Wednesday, August 30   and Carrie needs more host families!

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED!  How would you like to host a couple students from Eberbach, Germany for 3 days in August?  What a wonderful opportunity to show some "Michigan hospitality" while including these young people in a typical American family experience.   You just need to give them a place to sleep, get them to their concerts or bus pick-up, and have fun including them in your family. They speak English enough that communication should not be a problem. Music is an international language and you will discover that kids in Germany like many of the same things that American kids like! So many of our former host families have had incredible experiences and have formed long lasting friendships.

Saturday, August 27              Free Day with Host Families

Sunday, August 28      
1:00pm                                    Students dropped off at Union-Sebewaing High School 2203 Wildner Rd., Sebewaing, MI by host families
                                                Rehearsal/Prepare for Concert

3:00pm                                    CONCERT – “VOICES OF HEAVEN”  from Eberbach, GERMANY

                                                Home with host families following performance

Monday, August 29                Free Day with Host Families

Tuesday, August 30
7:45am                                    HOLIDAY COACH arrive Union-Sebewaing High School 2203 Wildner Rd., Sebewasing, MI 48759
                                                Group members arrive, load bus and prepare for departure to Chicago Hosteling International (with sack lunch provided by host family)
